Give Libby a pardon

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Let me get this straight. Undersecretary of State Richard Armitage, an anti-war voice inside the administration, leaks Valerie Plame's CIA status to the media, and Scooter Libby gets to serve 30 months in jail and pay a quarter-million dollar fine, and you think that's appropriate.

The only lie that Libby could have told to materially affect this case was to point the finger at someone other than Armitage or deny he knew who was the leaker, if he knew for certain it was Armitage. That never happened.

Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald knew long before he talked to anyone inside the Bush White House that the leaker was Armitage, but he wasted millions of taxpayer dollars in trying to lay the blame on a pro-war figure close to the president.

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Tracy Lawrence played first in a co-headlining capacity opposite Josh Gracin, much to the confusion of some of about 5,500 fans in attendance Monday night at the Greeley Stampede at Island Grove Regional Park Arena in Greeley.

Lawrence, a seasoned country music veteran of 16 years, played for 70 minutes for a crowd of people that was still trickling into the arena as the sun was setting, while the younger Gracin did not go on stage until after 10 p.m.

The order of performances seemed odd to many in the audience, as dozens of people, when asked, could not name a single Gracin song, and could only vaguely remember small details about him.
