TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Rider University in New Jersey has announced that it will take several steps to curb campus drinking.
The move is in response to the death in March of a freshman who was binge drinking.
In April, the university appointed a task force of faculty, staff and students to come up with ways to address drinking on campus. Its recommendations will go into full effect this fall.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. A shootout in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Monday left a community grieving for a well-known basketball coach and gym teacher.Willard Ross, 62, former Northwest High basketball coach, died Monday, according to a family friend. Police did not confirm that the shooting was fatal or that Ross died. But longtime rival Ted Haley, coach at Northeast High, confirmed Ross, a bystander, was fatally shot.
Ross was known for his cowboy boots and a rolling desk chair he would sit in at basketball games. He also coached softball and golf.Ross retired last year after 40 years with the local schools. On Monday, he was working at his family's fireworks stand in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, 1680 Fort Campbell Blvd. Initial police reports said the shootout involved a dark blue Ford Expedition with tinted windows and an Oldsmobile."He loved holidays and traditions. SANDUSKY -- Officers are investigating the death of a man on the railroad crossing near Campbell Street yesterday morning, according to Sandusky police.
Shortly after 5 a.m. yesterday, police got a call about a man struck by an eastbound train, said Lt. Mike Campbell.
Police found the white adult male was hit by an Amtrak train at the crossing, Campbell said. The body was found between the Campbell and Columbus streets crossings, according to the fire department.
