Republican Stalwart: Iraq Strategy Failing

WASHINGTON -- A key Republican backer of President George W. Bush is parting ways with him on Iraq.

Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar said on Monday that Bush's Iraq strategy is not working and that the U.S. should downsize the military's role.

The unusually blunt assessment comes as a surprise. Most Republicans have said they were willing to wait until September to see if Bush's recently ordered troop buildup in Iraq was working.

Fight against invasive weed continues at northern Indiana lake

Man, 21, Pleads Guilty to Sex With Girl, 14 and Pregnant

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) - A 21-year-old man who prosecutors say had sex with a 14-year-old now-pregnant girl with her mother's permission has pleaded guilty to three sex charges.

The girl was 13 last year when she made headlines in 2006 after fleeing to Indiana with a man she met on MySpace.com.

That man was never charged.
