JOB FAIR PLANNED: The Fleet and Family Support Center is sponsoring its 18th annual job fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 30 at Sikes Hall at Whiting Field Naval Air Station.
The job fair is open to the public. Job seekers should bring several copies of a resume.

Florida Panthers fans might be forgiven today for rummaging deep into the closet, retrieving that long-forgotten rubber rat and throwing it -- just for old times' sake.
Are happy days finally here again for South Florida's most beleaguered pro sports franchise and most unrequited fans? Well, hard to say because happy days in the context of our NHL team are so distant and hard to recall, we might expect to see the reports of them etched onto stone tablets or buried somewhere in a time capsule.
Better we should be satisfied at this point to suggest that the long dark pall over this club seems to be lifting at last. The people running the Panthers seem to be doing a few things right. The team's fans might be ready to brave a long-lost feeling -- what was it called again? Oh yeah. Optimism.

ATLANTA, June 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SunTrust Banks, Inc. today announced that Robert H. Coords, who is 64, will retire as the Company's Chief Risk Officer on July 1, 2007 following a 34-year career.
Succeeding Mr. Coords as Chief Risk Officer is Thomas E. Freeman, who currently serves as the company's corporate executive vice president and Chief Credit Officer and is a member of the Company's Management Committee.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A South Florida soldier killed in Iraq last week will be laid to rest Tuesday.
Pfc. Daniel J. Agami, 25, of Coconut Creek, died June 21 from injuries he sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle, the Department of Defense said Monday. He was one of five soldiers killed in the explosion.
Agami's friends gathered at his parents' home Monday after learning of the news.
