ST. PETERSBURG -- Strikeouts don't matter. Not even 13 of them.

That's what the Tampa Bay Devil Rays found out the hard way again Thursday night. Because when you give up three three home runs, those strikeouts may not matter.

For the fourth straight night, the Kane's Furniture sign in centerfield at Tropicana Field lit up and a siren rang after the Devil Rays pitchers struck out 10 White Sox batters, meaning free pizza for all.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—Finally, the White Sox might be turning their season around.

Javier Vazquez allowed one run in seven innings and Paul Konerko hit a pair of solo homers, helping Chicago beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 5-1 on Thursday night to complete a four-game sweep.

The modest winning streak, following a 5-22 stretch, comes after general manager Ken Williams last Sunday said roster changes were likely.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays player B. J. Upton graduated from Greenbrier Christian Academy. A story (?Devil Rays? Upton returning to action?) in Wednesday?s Sports section said he?s a graduate of Great Bridge High School.

The first name of Katharine McPhee, an ?American Idol? runner-up, was misspelled in a photo caption in Tuesday?s Daily Break.

Because of an editing error, ?American Idol? winner Taylor Hicks? fans were referred to as ?the snow patrol? in an item in Wednesday?s Daily Break. They?re known as ?The Soul Patrol.?

Konerko Powers ChiSox To Sweep Of Devil Rays

St. Petersburg, FL -- (Sports Network) - Javier Vazquez allowed one run over seven solid innings and Paul Konerko homered twice, as the Chicago White Sox completed their first sweep of the season when they wrapped up their four-game set against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Tropicana Field with a 5-1 win.

Vazquez (4-5), winless in his previous four starts, scattered seven hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks before Matt Thornton and Ryan Bukvich tossed a perfect eighth and ninth, respectively.

Tadahito Iguchi also homered for the White Sox, who now head to Kansas City for three straight games over the weekend. Luis Terrero ended 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win.
